Senior UC Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Execute the design, implementation, migration, and continuous management of the organization’s Cisco Unified Communications and Webex Calling systems.

• Assume full ownership of complex UC projects, encompassing planning, execution, migration, validation, and post-go-live support.

• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of intricate UC and UCaaS projects, which includes planning, execution, migration, validation, and post-go-live assistance.

• Facilitate the migration from on-prem Cisco UC (CUCM) to Webex Calling Cloud, addressing user and device migration, hybrid setups, and integration using CUBE as the Local Gateway.

• Manage and support Cisco UC platforms such as CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressway (C & E, MRA), CUBE, Webex Control Hub, and Webex Contact Center, in addition to handling upgrades, patching, certificate management, and lifecycle tasks.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal technical teams to establish solution designs, implementation strategies, technical standards, and best practices.

• Create and maintain runbooks, operational procedures, and support documentation, while monitoring system health through tools like Splunk, Grafana, or similar platforms.

• Deliver advanced incident management, troubleshooting, and strategic advice, including architecture presentations, migration plans, technology roadmaps, and adherence to security and governance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, migrating, and supporting Cisco Unified Communications solutions within large enterprise settings.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressway (E & C / MRA), CUBE, and Webex Control Hub.

• Demonstrated experience in On-Prem to Webex Calling Cloud migration projects.

• Comprehensive understanding of Cisco Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center design and implementation.

• Familiarity with VMware ESXi and vCenter for supporting UC workloads.

• Strong knowledge of UC protocols such as SIP, MGCP, and networking fundamentals including VLANs, NAT, and routing.

• Insight into UC platform lifecycle management, capacity planning, and high-availability design.

• Practical experience with system upgrades, patching, certificate management, and operational support.

• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent solutions.

• Proficient troubleshooting skills with the capability to resolve both complex and straightforward UC issues.

• Exceptional customer service orientation with strong follow-up, documentation, and organizational capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.

• Familiarity with ITIL-based operational processes is preferred.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, Entra ID, AWS.

• Experience with automation and API integrations.

• Programming or scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar).

• Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud UC architectures.
