Senior Transactions Monitoring Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive monitoring of intricate deposits, withdrawals, and securities trading activities.

• Serve as the main escalation contact, offering technical support and mentorship to junior team members.

• Detect process inefficiencies and deploy AI-driven or automated solutions to enhance transaction monitoring workflows.

• Conduct thorough source-of-funds and source-of-wealth assessments while managing high-level sanctions escalations pertaining to EU/UK, OFAC, and UN regulations.

• Analyze and communicate updates regarding FATF, MiFID II, and MAR.

• Generate data-driven reports on transaction monitoring metrics and assist with regulatory audits.

• Act as a subject matter expert in client transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and unique case scenarios.

• Report directly to the Head of AML & Sanctions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or a similar discipline.

• 3–5+ years of experience in AML/TM, preferably in brokerage, trading, or fintech sectors.

• Proven track record with transaction-monitoring systems such as ComplyAdvantage or WorldCheck.

• Familiarity with AI-enhanced compliance tools.

• Demonstrated ability to review processes to enhance speed and quality through automation.

• Capacity to analyze complex client structures and cross-border transactions.

• Strong interpersonal abilities for mentoring and collaborating with senior management.

• Exceptional attention to detail along with robust case documentation skills.

• Proficiency in interpreting large datasets and transaction monitoring metrics to detect emerging risk trends.

• ACAMS, ICA, or CGSS certification is strongly preferred.
