This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Provide guidance to clients regarding tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and eligibility for free trade agreements, as well as drafting CBP Binding Ruling Requests.
• Assist with compliance tasks such as verifications, post-entry corrections, and liaising with CBP and Partner Government Agencies.
• Develop proposals for the scope of work, pinpoint client risks and opportunities for refunds, and aid in the coordination of duty drawback processes.
• Assemble customs documentation, oversee post-entry filings, and maintain logs for refunds, CBP inquiries, and entry statuses.
• Investigate and address supplemental duty bills and penalties, while producing reports to support trade operations.
• Play a role in business development by crafting trade-related presentation materials and engaging in team meetings and process enhancement initiatives.
• At least 10 years of experience in the customs sector.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification.
• Valid U.S. Customs Broker License.
• In-depth understanding of tariff classification and Explanatory Notes, U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), valuation principles, and country of origin assessments.
• Expertise in executing customs entries across all modes of transportation, utilizing ACE functionality and brokerage software, as well as Microsoft Excel and the complete Microsoft Office Suite.
