Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the threat landscape by identifying and analyzing risks pertinent to GitLab, while enhancing awareness through timely Flash Reports.

• Manage our Threat Intelligence Platform and further develop our pipeline for collecting open source, proprietary, and internal intelligence.

• Assist in incident response by conducting malware analysis and tracking threat actors, enabling us to remain proactive against our primary threats.

• Collaborate on Purple Team Flash Operations, transforming emerging threats into joint exercises to validate and enhance our defensive measures.

• Establish valuable relationships with industry colleagues, exchanging intelligence and partnering on emerging threats.

• Develop code, utilize AI, and create automation to enhance team process efficiencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in delivering actionable intelligence that significantly impacts an organization’s security posture.

• Proficiency in working with a Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) and managing both ingested and exported threat feeds.

• Experience in researching adversaries through OSINT and structured analytical methodologies.

• Capability to automate processes by writing basic scripts or programs, preferably in Python.

• Strong and professional communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to convey complex subjects clearly and succinctly.

• Preferred but not mandatory: experience in reverse engineering malware, especially for macOS and Linux, as well as malware delivered through code repositories.

• Preferred but not mandatory: public examples of blogs or open-source contributions related to threat intelligence.
