This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Implement a unified operating standard across all security projects, ensuring project hygiene at scale: ownership, timelines, scope, plans, and status updates. Review and respond to AI-generated drafts that highlight gaps, suggest improvements, and bring attention to outdated work for project owners.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for security requests through Slack channels, ticket forms, and direct inquiries. Classify, route, and set expectations with requesters while capturing demand as data. Train the AI classification system using your insights and feedback.
• Generate individual, project-specific, and program-level status updates and the reports committed by the security organization (weekly operating reviews, monthly metrics relevant to engineering, quarterly roadmap updates). Edit AI-generated reports for narrative clarity, context framing, and the relational context that the data may overlook.
• Keep an updated model of team capacity and project commitments. Identify slippage early on. Highlight overcommitment to leadership proactively before deadlines are missed. Utilize judgment to consider factors that data may not reveal (team morale, growth requirements, strategic context).
• Catalog and assess the various categories of interruptive work the team manages (elevation requests, threat model processing, team inquiries, secret rotations, vulnerability alerts, and others). Suggest new projects aimed at minimizing unplanned work and enhancing processing efficiency.
• Prioritize new tasks based on established criteria of impact, urgency, dependencies, and capacity. Exercise judgment concerning political and strategic context.
• Collaborate directly with the AI engineering function as an internal stakeholder. Submit feature requests, validate output quality, define success criteria, and influence system evolution over time. Act as the product owner for the program management capabilities that facilitate your work.
• Continuously refine the operating standard as new edge cases emerge. Recommend updates, cultivate team buy-in, and implement changes consistently.
• Advocate for the security organization's program management practices to peers, stakeholders, and leadership throughout the company. Ensure all program reporting accurately reflects the current progress and risks in a transparent and objective manner.
• A minimum of 6 years in program or project management, preferably with experience in technical or engineering environments.
• Proven experience utilizing AI to enhance your program management practice. You can provide specific instances where AI has saved time, reduced costs, automated routine tasks, or allowed you to operate at a higher level.
• Strong proficiency with Jira and Confluence, including understanding epic and project structures, JQL, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Exceptional written communication skills. You are capable of drafting a clear executive summary, a detailed project brief, and an honest status report.
• Comfortable working with incomplete information, exercising judgment, and making decisions without waiting for approval.
• Ability to constructively push back, even at higher levels, when commitments are at risk or project scope is expanding.
• Experience working in a remote-first organization.
• Bonus: prior experience in security, infrastructure, or platform engineering organizations.
