This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• The main duty involves crafting and refining comprehensive technical proposals and project plans for KBI services.
• Proposals encompass the development of contract processes, analytics, and GMP manufacturing of biotherapeutics.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Process Development, Analytical Development, Manufacturing, and Program Management, across various KBI locations to establish project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Convert client requirements into clear deliverables and technically detailed proposals that showcase KBI’s value and vision for expediting products to patients globally.
• Review client Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and engage with clients and KBI subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify and clarify the scope of work and deliverables, facilitating the preparation of precise and technically detailed proposals.
• Create proposals by gathering information, which includes project background, product design, specific technical details, tasks, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, methods, and budget.
• Compose, revise, and edit proposal drafts, including executive summaries, key assumptions, scopes of work, pricing, and timelines (Gantt charts).
• Review proposal drafts with relevant Subject Matter Experts, Business Development Management, and Senior Operations Management.
• Ensure the accuracy of proposal content, pricing calculations, and timelines, while aligning with current internal best practices and proposal templates as required.
• Maintain high-quality results by utilizing templates and adhering to proposal writing standards, ensuring readability, consistency, and tone.
• Meet proposal deadlines by setting priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
• Engage in client meetings (both teleconferences and in-person) from a technical sales perspective.
• Develop, manage, and sustain a centralized RFI/RFP knowledge database.
• Assist business development team members in reviewing client Requests for Information (RFIs), compiling RFI responses based on knowledge databases and coordinating with cross-functional leads.
• Oversee and coordinate proposal development workflow between the business development group and SMEs (Process, Analytical and Formulation Development, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology groups, etc).
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree with at least 5+ years of scientific or biotechnology experience in research, development, manufacturing, or a related technical support role; or a Master of Science degree with a minimum of 2+ years of scientific or biotechnology experience; or a Ph.D. degree with at least 1+ year of scientific or biotechnology experience.
• Demonstrated scientific writing skills with the capability to develop, review, and assess the content of scientific documents and collaborate with technical personnel to meet established deadlines.
• Previous experience in proposal or RFP writing is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams to meet client needs and expectations.
• Proficient in multi-tasking and effectively applying time management techniques.
• Skilled in handling and prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong focus on quality and customer service, coupled with a high level of integrity and personal accountability.
• Analytical abilities with attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Experience working independently as well as within a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
