This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take initiative to independently generate, pursue, and secure engagements related to remediation, environmental liability, and waste management without dependency on work sourced internally.
• Act as the primary client contact with responsibility for fostering repeat business, expanding client relationships, and building long-term partnerships.
• Identify and develop opportunities within the insurance, industrial, energy, manufacturing, and transactional advisory sectors, focusing on remediation, liability assessment, redevelopment, and sustaining long-term environmental programs.
• Oversee large-scale, complex waste and remediation initiatives, including multi-site portfolios, corrective action sites, redevelopment-driven remediation, CCR facilities, landfills, and long-term program engagements.
• Manage projects initiated directly by the Senior Technical Director from the pursuit phase through to execution and completion.
• Ensure accountability for scope control, budget management, scheduling, and profitability.
• Provide senior-level technical guidance on remediation strategies, corrective actions, regulatory negotiations, and closure planning.
• Spearhead the creation of conceptual site models, remedial alternatives analysis, cost-to-closure estimates, and liability frameworks.
• Collaborate with teams specializing in hydrogeology, geochemistry, risk assessment, and transactional advisory.
• Directly engage with regulatory bodies (EPA, state agencies, and others) concerning remedial strategies, permitting, and closure plans.
• Assist clients with enforcement actions, consent orders, corrective actions, and redevelopment negotiations.
• Provide technical support for environmental due diligence and transaction advisory, including assessing environmental liabilities, evaluating remediation risks, and facilitating pre- and post-acquisition planning.
• Deliver remediation and regulatory strategies to support redevelopment and brownfield projects, coordinating with development timelines and closure milestones.
• Offer advisory services related to environmental claims, including the review and validation of remediation costs and providing technical support to insurance and legal stakeholders.
• Mentor and train technical staff while fostering a sustainable pipeline of work to enhance utilization and growth.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; advanced degrees and professional licensure (PG, PE) are preferred.
• 10 to 15+ years of consulting experience in waste management, remediation, corrective action, or environmental liability advisory.
• Proven experience with regulatory frameworks such as RCRA, CERCLA, CCR Rule, state corrective action programs, and risk-based closure methodologies.
• A demonstrated history of securing consulting work and maintaining long-term client relationships in an external consulting context.
• Ability to clearly articulate an active pipeline of client opportunities in waste, remediation, and environmental liability services.
• Experience serving as the primary client liaison with responsibility for pursuit strategies, pricing, and repeat engagements.
• Capability to manage intricate technical projects while ensuring profitability and adherence to schedules.
• Strong skills in technical writing, quality assurance/quality control, and presentations.
• Demonstrated business acumen related to opportunity selection, client development, and growth of service lines.
