This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee designated subsidiaries throughout the year by maintaining direct communication with their accounting teams.
• Evaluate and prepare federal and state standalone and consolidated tax returns, which includes assistance with U.S.-related international calculations and forms.
• Gather and review data for international-related calculations and returns, including Foreign Tax Credit, Subpart F, GILTI, and E&P.
• Handle state notices and provide support during state audits for assigned subsidiaries.
• Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 processes, encompassing deferred taxes.
• Contribute to and support special projects and process enhancements.
• Investigate tax issues and prepare accompanying analysis.
• Train, support, and mentor Tax Analysts.
• Report to a Tax Manager.
• Collaborate across various functions while independently solving problems.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Taxation or Accounting is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of direct tax experience in corporate tax is required.
• Experience in public accounting (Regional or Big 4) and/or multinational corporate tax is advantageous.
• Proficient Excel skills are essential.
• Capability to adapt to changing tax technology and automation initiatives.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and sensitive information.
• Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Independent judgment to assess situations, identify options, and propose solutions.
• A Master’s degree and/or CPA is preferred.
• Interest or experience in international tax is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Familiarity with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Compliance Software is a bonus.
• Experience with Alteryx is a plus.
