This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Primarily accountable for preparing working papers and supporting the onshore team with client tax compliance reports.
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of individual income tax returns.
• Tasked with preparing and lodging business activity statements.
• In charge of the preparation and submission of installment activity statements.
• Responsible for preparing and lodging fringe benefits tax returns.
• Conduct bookkeeping in client accounting files using Xero, MYOB, and occasionally QuickBooks.
• Manage payroll processing within client accounting files, including Xero and MYOB.
• Upload invoice payments on behalf of clients.
• Handle processing of quarterly superannuation payments.
• Prepare monthly management reports (i.e., P&L and balance sheet) for clients based on their accounting platforms.
• Undertake ad hoc tasks as required.
• Manage accounting for Division 7A loans.
• Engage in tax planning activities.
• Prepare trust distribution minutes.
• Review work completed by junior accountants, including individual tax returns, BASs, IASs, payroll, etc., as necessary.
• Execute any tasks deemed necessary by the Account Manager that relate to client management.
• Conduct training during downtime to enhance personal skills and share knowledge with the team.
• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for businesses operating through companies and trusts, including groups with inter-entity transactions.
• A graduate degree in Finance and/or Accounting is required.
• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of client accounts and businesses is essential.
• A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Australian accounting or taxation is required.
• Familiarity with Australian Taxation and Compliance is preferred.
• General Accounting experience with a solid background is preferred.
• Must have experience in compliance for Individual, Partnership, Trust, and Company entities.
• Knowledge of SMSF compliance is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with accounting tools such as Xero and MYOB is necessary.
• Ability to learn new systems and tools as required.
