This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• About the position: The Senior Tax Accountant will manage and supervise tax compliance, tax planning, and tax reporting in Poland. This role necessitates extensive experience in preparing corporate and VAT returns, along with a thorough understanding of Polish tax regulations.
• Key Responsibilities: Tax Compliance
• - Prepare and submit CIT returns and calculations in line with Polish tax laws and regulations.
• - Oversee VAT compliance, including the preparation and filing of VAT returns.
• - Communicate with tax authorities and respond to inquiries and audits.
• - Ensure all tax-related documents are filed accurately and on time.
• Tax Planning and Advisory
• - Offer strategic tax planning and advisory services to the organization.
• - Identify opportunities for tax savings and develop strategies to reduce tax liabilities.
• - Aid in the establishment of tax-efficient structures and processes.
• - Keep updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on the company.
• Financial Reporting
• - Prepare tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements.
• - Collaborate with the broader finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related items.
• - Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts from a tax perspective.
• Internal Controls and Compliance
• - Develop and uphold internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting.
• - Maintain orderly and precise tax records and documentation.
• - Conduct regular reviews and audits of tax processes to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
• - Provide training and support to finance and accounting staff regarding tax-related matters.
• What we seek:
• - Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• - Qualified Polish/international accountant certification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• - More than 5 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or within a corporate tax department, focusing on preparing corporate and VAT returns in Poland.
• - Comprehensive knowledge of Polish tax laws and regulations.
• - Experience interacting with Polish tax authorities and managing tax audits.
• - Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
• - Knowledge of ERP Dynamics NAV is a significant advantage.
• - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• - Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• - Capability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• - Ability to work independently and take charge of tasks while effectively collaborating within a team.
• - Proficient in English at a B2 level or higher, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
