Senior Systems Engineer – Pre-Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with our Account teams to offer pre-sales technical systems engineering assistance for our enterprise and commercial clients.

• Serve as a trusted advisor for customers to collect requirements and pinpoint opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.

• Facilitate whiteboard network architectural assessments.

• Present Arista product demonstrations showcasing Arista’s networking solutions portfolio.

• Design, architect, and propose Arista Data Center solutions utilizing leaf-spine architectures along with (VxLAN, EVPN) network overlays to drive additional sales.

• Collaborate with the Proof of Concept team to conduct hands-on testing to validate customer proof-of-concept configurations.

• Provide constructive feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams.

• Represent Arista at customer engagements and industry conferences.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive solutions, products, and services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A technical degree in BS/CS/CE or equivalent experience is required.

• Preferred Network Industry Certification (e.g., CCIE (R&S), JNCIE).

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation, particularly focused on Data Center networks.

• Proficient in routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols (experience with at least one of: Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, or similar is essential).

• Prior work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer is preferred.

• Previous exposure to network overlays is a plus.

• In-depth knowledge in three or more of the following fields: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), TCP/IP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS.

• Expert-level understanding of industry-standard CLI.

• Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is highly desirable.

• Past experience in building network automation using Python and Ansible is preferred.

• Familiarity with competitive products, solutions, and services.

• Ability to write white papers is an added advantage.
