Senior Streaming Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Assists in the development of big data applications tailored to business needs within an established architectural framework and Agile environment.

• Conducts comprehensive analyses of requirements, develops, tests, and documents software quality to ensure effective implementation.

• Adheres to established SDLC procedures to guarantee that all information system products and services satisfy both explicit and implicit quality standards, end-user functional requirements, architectural criteria, performance expectations, audit mandates, security protocols, and the accuracy of external reporting.

• Performs risk analysis on applications and projects, offering recommendations for quality enhancements.

• Supports Production by providing insights on system functionality and fixes as necessary.

• Communicates any software delays or defects in a clear and timely manner to relevant team members and management.

• Possesses experience in resolving security vulnerabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing high-speed, data-centric solutions.

• Proficient in Java with at least 5 years of experience.

• Familiarity with high-speed distributed computing frameworks such as FLINK, Apache Spark, Kafka Streams, etc.

• Experience with distributed message brokers including Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, and Amazon Kinesis.

• Expertise in cloud technologies and migrations, particularly with AWS foundational services like VPCs, Security Groups, EC2, RDS, S3 ACLs, KMS, AWS CLI, and IAM.

• Skilled in developing and delivering technical solutions using public cloud service providers like Amazon and Google.

• Experienced in writing unit and integration tests utilizing testing frameworks like Junit and Citrus.

• Knowledgeable in various database types including Relational, NoSQL, Object-based, and Graph databases.

• Experienced in following Git workflows.

• Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiar with monitoring tools and frameworks like Splunk, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, and AppDynamics.
