Senior Staff Software Engineer – Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead intricate, cross-departmental technical projects from the stages of architecture and planning to implementation and delivery.

• Influence technical decision-making for systems that encompass application, infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments.

• Contribute to the architectural direction, scalability planning, reliability enhancements, and operational maturity across the platform.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and infrastructure challenges across distributed systems.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to refine development practices, testing strategies, deployment processes, and operational standards.

• Create technical proposals, architecture documents, and implementation plans that unify teams around execution.

• Mentor engineers by providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, engaging in system design discussions, and facilitating collaborative problem-solving.

• Elevate engineering quality through constructive feedback, thorough documentation, and proficient technical execution.

• Work closely with product, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to achieve reliable customer outcomes.

• Clearly communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience with a proven history of leading intricate technical projects involving multiple engineers.

• Strong expertise in software development across various languages and paradigms.

• Proficient in utilizing coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) as part of your daily operations.

• Comprehensive understanding of network architecture including routing, switching, VPN protocols, DNS, and firewalls.

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with cloud networking elements such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, transit gateways, and private endpoints.

• Experience with distributed systems encompassing databases, caches, queues, event-driven systems, and cloud infrastructure.

• Proven capability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and navigate projects through uncertainty to successful delivery.

• Experience in creating technical designs, architecture proposals, and implementation documentation.
