Senior Staff Software Engineer – QA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the testing of Storage functionalities by engaging in product design and formulating test strategies through both manual testing and automation.

• Evaluate feature designs and provide constructive feedback to the development team to enhance product quality and testability.

• Create test strategies aimed at identifying product vulnerabilities through cross-functional, system, and stress testing.

• Collaborate closely with developers to gain insights into new and existing features, bug resolutions, and to formulate test cases for new functionalities as well as regression testing.

• Partner with the tools team to establish test automation for various product features.

• Interact with the Customer Support team to comprehend customer issues, replicate them internally, and perform debugging.

• Work remotely with a global team, ensuring effective communication via Slack, Zoom, Email, Confluence, and Jira.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with NFS/SMB protocols, on Windows and/or Linux platforms.

• Experience with multiple operating systems: Linux, Windows, and VMWare.

• Strong understanding of release management and the software testing lifecycle.

• Familiarity with NAS File system testing.

• Experience in software test development utilizing shell scripting and Python.

• Proficiency with packet capture tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.

• Background in drafting and executing complex system-level test plans, test cases, and generating test reports.

• Proven track record of being a key contributor to successful projects.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, complemented by a solid quality assurance background.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science with at least 8 years of experience.
