Senior Staff Software Engineer – Project Matrix

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and lead system-wide architectural choices for LVT's embedded camera platforms.

• Design and oversee software that operates on edge devices and infrastructure for on-camera encoding, video storage, streaming, and retrieval.

• Act as the main technical authority within a Joint Design Manufacturing model.

• Coordinate cross-functional efforts between third-party software partners and internal hardware teams.

• Work in partnership with Technical Program Managers, Hardware, Product Management, and Software teams to bring products from edge to cloud.

• Facilitate architecture and code reviews while managing intricate scheduling.

• Guide engineers and elevate the technical standards of the organization.

• Lead camera analytics that convert raw video into actionable insights.

• Employ AI-driven tools for design, coding, and automated testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of overall experience.

• Proven experience as a Staff or Senior Staff Software Engineer.

• Demonstrated ability to navigate high ambiguity and enhance engineering processes.

• Capability to transform complex architectural challenges into well-defined, prioritized tasks.

• Extensive knowledge in embedded Linux environments.

• Familiarity with custom Yocto distributions.

• Expertise in video processing pipelines.

• Foundational understanding of low-level hardware and MCU/RTOS.

• Experience in designing edge-based camera analytics.

• Background in deploying resource-efficient computer vision or Edge AI models.

• Proven success in achieving technical results within a JDM framework.

• Experience in assessing vendor capabilities and maintaining high engineering standards with third-party partners.

• A technical authority with the ability to influence teams and shape engineering culture.

• Proficient in AI-driven development tools.

• Must successfully complete a drug screening and background check before employment.

• Certain roles may necessitate a federal background check and fingerprinting.
