Senior Staff GNC Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and develop flight control algorithms for innovative VTOL aircraft.

• Create inventive solutions to effectively validate intricate systems and software.

• Construct simulations to verify and validate system specifications.

• Conduct trade studies to guide aircraft design and system architecture decisions.

• Collaborate with the Flight Test team to devise tests that safely assess the vehicle's capabilities.

• Enhance the precision and functionality of our vehicle and environmental simulation models.

• Analyze full-scale and sub-scale flight data to refine our models.

• Develop software requirements and test cases that inform the design of the GNC software.

• Work closely with Systems Engineering to effectively decompose higher-level requirements.

• Partner with Systems Safety and Systems Engineering to identify and rectify any issues within the Flight Control System.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and both classical and modern control theories.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink.
