Senior Staff Attorney – Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Manage intricate and high-stakes litigation cases.

• Evaluate complex substantive and procedural legal and factual matters, perform comprehensive and well-founded legal research, and autonomously devise and present defense strategies for clients.

• Draft complex pleadings, written discovery documents, depositions, motions, and briefs to support defense strategies independently due to a high level of experience and expertise.

• Deliver effective and timely communications, information, legal counsel, and other services to clients and claims customers regarding legal and factual matters in a technology-driven setting.

• Engage with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in accordance with established office protocols.

• Ensure the prompt, efficient, and effective resolution of assigned cases.

• Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence during trials, judicial and administrative hearings, and alternative dispute resolution processes.

• Research, draft, file, and advocate for appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients.

• Provide legal opinions to the Managing Attorney, Assistant Managing Attorney, staff, clients, and claims customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and a license to practice in Nevada state and local federal courts.

• Must be a member in good standing of the relevant Bar Association.

• At least 5 years of experience in tort law.

• Documented first chair jury trial/appellate experience is preferred.

• Strong skills in legal research and writing are essential.

• Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and time effectively.

• Proficient communication, computer, and technological skills, along with the capacity to quickly adapt to new software and AI tools as necessary.

• Demonstrated expertise and familiarity with handling claim cases and litigation.
