Senior Staff Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage litigation cases involving the corporation and/or its insured, adhering to established corporate guidelines and the relevant code of professional conduct.

• Assess files as litigation evolves. Evaluate cases and pursue settlements when necessary.

• Supervise external counsel throughout the litigation of intricate claims.

• Review motions and briefs during the litigation process and provide essential feedback.

• Conduct legal research as required.

• Attend court hearings and trials as needed.

• Keep abreast of state statutes and court rulings, analyzing how these legal frameworks impact the interpretation and enforceability of various policy provisions.

• Oversee litigation with greater complexity across multiple business lines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in coverage is preferred.

• Proven track record of delivering customer-focused solutions, support, or service.

• Demonstrated experience in drafting civil pleadings, motions, and discovery, as well as deposing witnesses.

• Established litigation experience.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Professional Responsibility rules applicable in their jurisdiction.

• Comprehensive understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law.

• Admitted to the state bar in the jurisdiction where they practice.

• Juris Doctor degree is required.
