Senior SRE, Ads

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Ads Engineering teams to enhance the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of ad-serving, auction, targeting, measurement, and billing systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure, tools, and automation to boost service reliability and engineering productivity.

• Enhance observability through effective monitoring, alerting, tracing, logging, and dashboard creation.

• Engage in on-call rotations and lead incident response initiatives for critical production systems.

• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions following incidents.

• Work alongside software engineers throughout the service lifecycle, from design reviews to production operations.

• Promote the adoption of SRE best practices, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and operational readiness evaluations.

• Minimize operational toil through automation and self-service tools.

• Assist in defining and measuring advertiser-critical user journeys such as campaign creation, ad delivery, reporting, and billing.

• Scale Ads systems to accommodate ongoing traffic growth, increased advertiser demand, and shifting business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related fields managing large-scale distributed systems.

• Extensive experience supporting high-traffic, user-facing production environments.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, Linux systems, and cloud-native architectures.

• Proficient programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, or equivalent.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues across applications, infrastructure, networking, and services.

• Familiarity with observability platforms, monitoring systems, alerting, and incident response protocols.

• Experience in driving automation and operational enhancements.
