This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Collaborate closely with ID team members, APHL staff, CDC partners, and local public health laboratories.
• Allocate time to support respiratory disease initiatives (70%) and HHST activities (30%).
• Offer scientific and administrative assistance for ID program endeavors.
• Organize, plan, and coordinate meetings, training sessions, and conference calls.
• Promote the transfer of information and technology regarding infectious disease matters.
• Create and distribute information through updates and newsletters.
• Act as a representative for the organization in external initiatives and meetings.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a life science or laboratory field is required.
• A Master’s Degree in public health or a life science is preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience is necessary.
• Advanced technical training or a Master’s degree can substitute for professional experience.
• Experience in health departments, federal agencies, member-based organizations, or laboratories is preferred.
• Familiarity with microbiology and/or molecular laboratory science is advantageous.
• Knowledge of infectious disease diagnostic testing methods is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
• Familiarity with Teams and SharePoint is preferred.
