This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for the configuration of mainframe hardware systems such as HCD, IOGEN, and IOCP.
• Act as the primary contact for setting up client environments within Ensono data centers to replicate existing client setups during new client migrations.
• Function as the escalation point for mainframe hardware challenges, including issues with failed Tape Drives, offline devices, and Call Home alerts.
• Responsible for coordinating and implementing hardware MES’s.
• Upgrade current client hardware, including Mainframe CPUs, DASD, and Tape, to facilitate hardware lifecycle activities.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a z/OS environment supporting Tape, DASD, CPU, and various mainframe hardware systems.
• Proficient in creating HCD and IOCP for zOS, zVM, and zVSE in a complex, geographically distributed multi-data center setting.
• Capable of supporting multiple client hardware upgrades and data center migrations.
• Senior-level knowledge of Z Series HMC and support elements.
• Ability to lead new customer hardware migrations and current client hardware upgrades with minimal supervision.
• Above-average understanding of network connectivity requirements for mainframe, DASD, and Tape subsystem HMCs.
• Skilled in interacting with account management and project managers.
• Experience collaborating with vendors and geographically dispersed Data Center support teams and implementation groups.
• Strong analytical abilities, along with problem definition and resolution skills.
• Familiarity with multiple ITSM processes and procedures; proficient in Excel, Visio, and MS Project or similar tools.
• Ability to assess proposed architecture for supportability before presenting to clients.
• The ideal candidate will design hardware solutions that meet both client and business needs.
• Above-average knowledge of the z/OS operating system.
• Familiarity with tape and DASD replication techniques across various mainframe vendors.
• Build and maintain mainframe Disaster Recovery configurations for numerous clients at various Recovery Facilities.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery Tests.
• Knowledge of data encryption technologies applicable to the mainframe.
• Familiarity with Putty.
• Ability to mentor and train junior Hardware Configuration team members.
• Knowledge of z/VM or z/Linux is considered an advantage.
