Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain software and systems to enhance the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Thumbtack's services.

• Establish the architectural framework for infrastructure and platform services while supporting the engineering team.

• Create and implement tools and processes for deployment, change management, service management, and infrastructure management.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot critical systems throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Contribute to the enhancement and performance of the capabilities we offer to the engineering team as a platform organization.

• Engage in capacity planning and demand forecasting, identifying potential performance bottlenecks.

• Participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of AWS and Linux.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and debugging code in programming languages such as Python, Go, PHP, and JavaScript.

• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems across web technologies, including DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, and TCP/IP.

• Ability to break down complex problems and understand the trade-offs necessary to achieve impactful solutions.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing infrastructure and systems.

• Proven knowledge of instrumenting, operating, and monitoring a distributed system of microservices in a production cloud setting.

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional partners at various technical levels.
