Senior Software Engineer – REDAPL Graph Engine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Develop a query engine that facilitates efficient relationship traversals for our most demanding workloads.

• Contribute to the design and lead high-priority, high-visibility projects aimed at enhancing the platform's value, resilience, and scalability across various teams.

• Mentor and guide fellow engineers in making architectural decisions for the platform.

• Identify potential system risks and trends in reliability, designing solutions to mitigate them.

• Offer insights on prioritizing engineering-led initiatives for both short- and long-term planning and roadmaps.

• Collaborate with internal product teams to comprehend their requirements and plan for their product growth as they integrate with and rely on REDAPL.

⛳️ Requirements

• You hold a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or possess equivalent experience.

• You have extensive experience working with various types of data stores.

• You have contributed to initiatives in a platform or infrastructure-focused setting for several years.

• You have led significant technical initiatives in environments where performance, cost efficiency, ease of use, and resilience/operability are top priorities.

• You possess substantial back-end engineering experience and have built and operated distributed systems to address challenges at a large scale.

• You have experience with Graph Databases such as Neo4j, Memgraph, JanusGraph, ArangoDB, Amazon Neptune, or PuppyGraph.

• You have production-grade experience with Apache Iceberg.

• You have a strong understanding of query planning or have contributed to production-grade query engines or related projects (e.g., Trino, Calcite, Substrait, DataFusion, etc.), ideally demonstrated through open-source contributions or PMC membership in these projects.
