Senior Software Engineer, Python, AI, Insurance SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop a sophisticated multi-tenant enterprise SaaS application aimed at transforming application workflows.

• Create and sustain the backend REST server that provides machine learning data and business intelligence.

• Manage the entire lifecycle of designing, constructing, and launching enterprise applications.

• Engage in greenfield projects with significant ownership opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with the head of product, data science team, UX designers, and end users.

• Influence EvolutionIQ’s products through technology selection and roadmap formulation.

• Offer technical guidance, implement best practices, ensure consistency across teams, and assist in prioritizing features.

• Address business challenges using extensive structured and unstructured datasets.

• Partner with product managers to outline scope and design database schemas.

• Produce technical design documents, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience throughout the entire feature development lifecycle.

• Over 5 years of engineering experience.

• Proficient in Python development.

• Strong background in systems design.

• Experience with relational databases.

• Demonstrated use of AI/agentic tools such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor.

• Experience in designing, building, and launching backend architectures for multi-tenant, multi-user environments.

• Capability to transition between rapid prototyping and stable production development.

• Expertise in writing technical design documents and conducting code reviews.

• Familiarity with cutting-edge engineering practices.

• Ability to comprehend client business challenges and illustrate the business implications of technical solutions.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.

• A self-starter attitude and enthusiasm for tackling unresolved issues.

• Excellent collaboration abilities across teams and receptiveness to constructive feedback.
