Senior Software Engineer, Presence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate across functions, partnering with product, design, and other engineering teams to implement product and business strategies, creating innovative products and features that resonate with our users.

• Engage in the entire development cycle: from technical design and development to testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch. This includes reviewing code and design documentation, as well as providing feedback on product specifications and mockups.

• Join a team of dedicated, swift, and enthusiastic engineers. Contribute to best practices that enhance developer workflows, recommend optimal approaches, and mentor fellow engineers to advance their technical skills.

• Play a key role in strategic planning and decision-making for backend development initiatives.

• Work efficiently while maintaining high quality. We need someone who can swiftly create new products without compromising on quality or allowing critical bugs to disrupt progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of industry experience with large-scale distributed systems.

• More than 5 years of hands-on, professional software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (Go, Python, Ruby, Java, C++).

• Proficient in GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and Thrift fundamentals, with the capability to design and implement maintainable APIs.

• Familiar with distributed caching layers and large-scale distributed data storage systems such as Cassandra.

• Proven track record of developing and enhancing highly scalable and reliable serving systems.

• Demonstrated experience leading projects that necessitate cross-team and cross-functional collaboration.

• Strong organizational abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks and delivering projects on time.

• An entrepreneurial mindset. You are self-motivated, creative, and action-oriented in fast-paced settings. You enjoy building new solutions and excel in uncertain environments, even when faced with setbacks.

• Exceptional communication skills. You effectively collaborate with teams in a fully remote context and can discuss complex subjects with both technical and non-technical audiences.
