Senior Software Engineer, Platform Tooling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement AI-enhanced tools and services that improve engineering workflows, covering areas like code generation, test automation, documentation, and knowledge discovery.

• Integrate intelligent automation into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by working with CI/CD systems, Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), code review tools, and other developer platforms.

• Work collaboratively with senior engineers and technical leads to explore new AI technologies and evaluate their implications across teams.

• Promote best practices in AI-supported development and provide resources to facilitate internal adoption.

• Provide mentorship to engineers on AI applications, software architecture, and automation methods to enhance overall team capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in backend development using object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java, with a strong understanding of system design and engineering best practices.

• Significant experience in creating developer-facing tools or contributing to internal platforms aimed at enhancing productivity and workflow efficiency.

• Practical experience in incorporating AI into software engineering tasks, such as leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for code assistance, automated documentation, or intelligent testing.

• Expertise with CI/CD tools, cloud-native environments, and developer infrastructure.

• A strong enthusiasm for improving developer efficiency through intelligent automation and user-friendly design.

• Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor engineers through the processes of design, implementation, and optimization.
