Senior Software Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain essential platform services and infrastructure that drive search, file management, identity, authentication, and workspaces.

• Take ownership of major components and multi-month projects from technical design to deployment and monitoring.

• Construct and manage AWS infrastructure focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Establish and uphold service patterns, best practices, and engineering standards.

• Oversee and enhance security, authentication, monitoring, and observability systems.

• Manage platform SDKs, ensuring they are well-architected, documented, and maintainable.

• Design and implement AI infrastructure, including MCP patterns, agent systems, token management, and throttling.

• Collaborate with various teams to pinpoint platform needs, minimize friction, and address gaps in shared capabilities.

• Contribute to the technical strategy and make build-vs-buy recommendations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues in distributed systems.

• Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and elevate the technical standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, OpenSearch, IAM, and related services.

• Proven experience in designing and maintaining scalable, distributed backend systems.

• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript is preferred.

• Strong grasp of security and authentication patterns within cloud-native environments.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and operational tools for production systems.

• Ability to tackle ambiguous technical challenges, define requirements, and independently drive solutions.

• Comfort in working across core infrastructure, identity systems, search, file services, and AI tooling.

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities in distributed systems.

• Strong technical writing skills for design documents, runbooks, and documentation.

• Exceptional cross-functional communication abilities.

• Willingness to take ownership, iterate quickly, and handle multiple roles.

• Experience in AI/LLM infrastructure is a plus.

• Background in SDK design and stewardship is a bonus.

• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch at scale is desirable.

• Familiarity with SaaS integrations such as PLM, DAM, PIM, or ERP systems is a bonus.

• Experience in managing hosting costs and optimizing cloud expenses is a bonus.

• Knowledge of automated testing strategies and testable system design is a bonus.

• Exposure to Angular or React is a bonus.

• Contributions to developer experience initiatives are a bonus.
