Senior Software Engineer, Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement intricate, cross-functional features and systems utilizing Ruby on Rails, Postgres, GraphQL, REST, and occasionally React and React Native.

• Lead initiatives to tackle technical debt and enhance system reliability by identifying opportunities for refactoring and optimization.

• Influence and advance the architecture and system design across various services and applications.

• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing coverage, and comprehensive documentation.

• Mentor engineers and provide constructive feedback.

• Enhance internal tools, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems.

• Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making regarding trade-offs.

• Address and assist in resolving complex technical challenges.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers during the discovery phase to shape the direction of features.

• Contribute to the development of engineering culture, processes, and backend engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience.

• Advanced expertise in Ruby on Rails and/or other MVC frameworks.

• In-depth knowledge of relational databases with the ability to design and optimize scalable data models and APIs.

• Practical experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq.

• Experience in contributing across front-end, back-end, and data layers.

• Familiarity with leveraging artificial intelligence to create, enhance, or optimize product tools and features.

• Capability to manage complex tasks and ambiguous problems autonomously.

• Understanding of business trade-offs with the ability to communicate the risks and benefits of technical strategies.

• Strong skills in collaboration, mentorship, and proactive feedback.

• Must reside and work permanently in the United States.

• Desired technologies include AWS, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, React, React Native, Terraform, GraphQL, and integrations with large language models.
