Senior Software Engineer – Performance Pacing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Kotlin APIs and backend services that support MNTN’s distributed pacing and ad delivery systems.

• Take ownership of crucial infrastructure that influences optimization strategies across various campaigns and target audiences.

• Enhance engineering standards and team culture through peer reviews, mentorship, and robust technical leadership.

• Expand microservices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Continuously refine and advance existing services for improved performance and maintainability.

• Work collaboratively with Business and Project Leads to convey complex technical ideas and translate business needs into scalable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing distributed systems using Kotlin and Python.

• Proficiency in both non-relational and relational databases, including SQL, schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.

• Proven experience with microservices architecture in live production settings.

• Ability to navigate multiple tech stacks, including systems developed in Rust, Python, and data platforms like PySpark.

• Familiarity with Kafka or similar high-throughput messaging systems.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.

• Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments and developer tools (e.g., Git, CI/CD).

• A product-oriented mindset, with an interest in understanding how your work affects customers and system performance at scale.

• Passionate about integrating AI tools into your workflow to boost productivity.

• Significant advantage: experience with OpenRTB, DSP, or ad delivery optimization strategies.
