This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Take charge of and enhance OrderYOYO's payment functionalities β facilitating KYC onboarding, deductions, timing for settlements/payouts, dispute management, and merchant invoicing β all while elevating reliability, security, and engineering excellence in one of our most vital business areas.
β’ Develop, construct, and manage payment-domain services, which include gateway integrations and processes for payment intent/authorization/capture/refund, payout orchestration, and reconciliation.
β’ Establish marketplace capabilities where applicable: onboarding/KYC integration, merchant setup, settlement instructions, deductions, and alignment of invoicing/merchant statements.
β’ Create solid βflow-of-fundsβ building blocks β idempotency, ledgers/events, and audit trails β that can be fully supported for finance and compliance purposes.
β’ Integrate with PSP and partner tools, paying close attention to tri-party/sub-merchant implications where necessary.
β’ Set up dispute/chargeback and fraud management touchpoints throughout internal workflows and PSP tools, collaborating with Ops on runbooks and escalation paths.
β’ Work closely with Product, Legal/Compliance, Finance, and Support to translate requirements into secure, testable production behavior.
β’ Enhance engineering quality in a rapidly changing domain through automated testing, safe rollouts/canaries, observability, and incident-response enhancements β while mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and contributing to shared standards and documentation.
β’ Strong background in backend engineering within distributed systems β including microservices, asynchronous processing, resilient APIs, and eventual consistency.
β’ Experience in production environments with payment processes (auth/capture/refund, webhooks, reconciliation) and βmoney correctnessβ practices such as idempotency keys, double-entry logic, and auditability.
β’ A robust security mindset: understanding of PCI compliance, PII protection, secrets management, least privilege principles, and secure coding practices.
β’ Proficiency in working within an Azure-first environment (APIs, queues/eventing, monitoring), complemented by strong CI/CD and automated testing methodologies.
β’ Effective and confident communication skills with non-technical stakeholders in high-pressure situations β including incidents, financial discrepancies, and compliance inquiries.
