
Senior Software Engineer – OpenShift Infrastructure, Security Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Create tools for generating and automating regulatory benchmark guidance.
• Develop AI-driven tools (MCP servers/toolsets) that seamlessly integrate with IDEs (Claude Code/Cursor).
• Gain insights into Compliance Operator resources, including CustomRules and Profiles.
• Implement checks utilizing various scanning technologies, such as OpenSCAP and CEL expressions.
• Design and maintain operators that enhance the security posture of OpenShift.
• Contribute to industry benchmark regulatory organizations where applicable (CIS).
• Possess knowledge of security and hardening techniques for container management (e.g., Security Context Constraints, Validation Admission Policies, RBAC).
• Have familiarity with Machine Configs, SCCs, and RHCOS (operating systems optimized for container deployment).
• Understand the concept of operators within the Kubernetes ecosystem, including their functionality and OLM (Red Hat’s package manager for operators).
• Proficient in using Git.
• Experience in developing and maintaining projects using Golang and/or Python.
• Possess project management experience and skills in task tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Familiarity with compliance scanning workflows using various tools like Remediate, Rescan, or Repeat.
• Knowledge of specific regulatory bodies and their benchmarks (CIS, PCI, DISA, NIST, etc.).
• Familiar with Cursor and/or Claude Code, as we aim to leverage AI tools for profile management.
• Experience with GitOps-based workflows or Tekton pipelines.
