Information Security Engineer – Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and oversee Microsoft Entra ID security measures, including Conditional Access policies, identity governance, privileged access management, and authentication security protocols.

• Set up and sustain Microsoft Intune security baselines, compliance guidelines, endpoint protection measures, and automated deployment processes.

• Deploy, manage, and enhance Microsoft Defender security solutions, encompassing Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365, and Defender for Cloud Apps.

• Configure, oversee, and fine-tune Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP), information protection, and compliance measures.

• Create and manage Microsoft Sentinel detections, KQL queries, analytics rules, dashboards, and workbooks.

• Engage in security operations tasks such as alert triage, investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident evaluations.

• Manage vulnerability scanning and security assessment tools.

• Take part in a rotating on-call schedule to assist with security incidents and operational escalations.

• Spearhead the implementation, integration, and optimization of security technologies to enhance platform capabilities and deliver business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of practical experience in security engineering, cloud security, security operations, or a related cybersecurity position.

• Proven experience in implementing and managing Microsoft 365 E5 security technologies within an enterprise setting.

• Background in supporting security operations functions, including incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.

• Experience in supporting security controls and monitoring in AWS environments.

• Familiarity with AWS security services such as IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and associated cloud security capabilities.

• Experience in implementing or managing Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Conditional Access, Identity Governance, Authentication Security).

• Experience with Microsoft Intune.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Defender Suite.

• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview.

• Proficient in KQL (Kusto Query Language).

• Experience with PowerShell and/or Python automation.

• Knowledge of security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management practices.

• Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200), Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300), Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), AWS Certified Security – Specialty (asset).
