Senior Software Engineer – Mexico, Remote

Posted Jul 15

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage shared back-end services utilizing Node.js that are utilized throughout Neumo's product offerings.

• Implement multi-tenancy from the outset: tenant isolation, data segregation, and individualized tenant configurations are fundamental to our development process.

• Create event-driven, serverless architectures on AWS (Lambda, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, S3, RDS, Redshift).

• Take ownership of your services in production, including monitoring, tracing, alerting, and incident response, rather than just focusing on the initial deployment.

• Develop and uphold automated testing across unit, integration, and regression layers, maintaining high coverage levels.

• Consider security as an integral part of the completion criteria: addressing dependencies and vulnerabilities, managing secrets, and ensuring compliance on sensitive operations such as payments.

• Incorporate AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) into your daily routine, and evaluate AI-generated code with the same diligence you would apply to your own work.

• Engage in design and code reviews, sharing insights to elevate the knowledge of the entire team.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to convert end-user requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• A minimum of 4 years of back-end engineering experience, specifically with production-grade, scalable systems in Node.js.

• Proficient in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Strong experience with relational databases (we utilize PostgreSQL).

• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and familiarity with serverless and event-driven architectures.

• Committed to automated testing and maintaining high code quality.

• Experience in constructing multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

• Familiarity with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, EventBridge, Cognito, OpenSearch) and infrastructure as code (SAM, CloudFormation, or similar).

• Knowledge of message-based and event-driven system architectures.

• Experience in integrating or developing payment systems, along with an understanding of PCI compliance.

• Background working with AI-assisted development tools within a production codebase.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly driven, self-directed, and eager to learn, while actively contributing to team design and discussions.

• Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.

• Openness to embracing new challenges.

• Must be dependable and responsible, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

🏝️ Benefits

• Neumo provides a competitive benefits and compensation package.
