Senior Software Engineer – Matching

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop fundamental backend services and data pipelines.

• Conduct data-driven research utilizing big data along with a Data Science toolkit.

• Document design decisions and operational insights to effectively deploy and manage services.

• Ensure comprehensive test coverage, including unit and integration testing, with an emphasis on performance and cost-effectiveness in your areas of feature ownership.

• Implement robust alerting, dashboards, and runbooks for production services.

• Collaborate with team members and other engineering groups to create new features and products that meet business requirements.

• Adhere to software design and development best practices while advocating for these practices within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in backend systems within an enterprise setting.

• More than 3 years of experience in data analysis, data science tasks, and/or machine learning.

• At least 2 years of programming experience in Python 2.x/3.x, Scala, or Java.

• Familiarity with AI development tools, particularly agentic AI, is advantageous.

• Experience in developing systems based on large language models (LLM) is a plus.

• Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), microservices, and event-driven architecture.

• Proficiency with an enterprise-grade stack for scalable web applications, including messaging brokers, in-memory storage solutions, NoSQL, and key-value databases.

• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit testing, and automated testing methodologies.

• Experience with SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS).

• Familiarity with large-scale data processing frameworks, such as Spark.
