This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Independently lead the execution of comprehensive projects across backend services, APIs, and data pipelines, establishing experimentation, development, and rollout strategies across various systems with minimal oversight.
• Design scalable and reliable solutions that prioritize performance and cost efficiency, utilizing extensive technical expertise to create systems capable of managing high-throughput marketing operations.
• Propel technical advancements by recognizing and addressing fundamental issues, crafting suitable abstractions to reduce complexity and enhance reusability within the codebase.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing and Product stakeholders to shape features and requirements, offering a strong technical viewpoint while making informed trade-offs between complexity, business value, and delivery schedules.
• Guide junior engineers through code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and support onboarding, while enhancing team efficiency through process improvements and automation.
• 5–8 years of software engineering experience with expert-level proficiency in Python for developing scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Demonstrated success in leading projects from inception to completion, encompassing architecture design, implementation, experimentation, and deployment in production.
• Extensive knowledge of data integration technologies (Snowflake, SQL, ETL processes) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, DBT).
• Proven capability to design systems for performance, scalability, and resilience, with experience in implementing thorough observability solutions (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Strong product acumen with the ability to deeply analyze problems, influence product strategy, and make strategic trade-offs that balance technical and business factors.
• Exceptional communication abilities, with a proven track record of mentoring engineers, fostering cross-team alignment, and translating technical concepts for a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience in architecting and implementing automation frameworks and reusable abstractions that enhance team productivity and system extensibility.
• Advanced understanding of ad platform APIs (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Snapchat Ads) and large-scale conversion tracking mechanisms.
• In-depth knowledge of digital marketing operations and performance marketing KPIs (ROAS, LTV, CAC, CPA), with the ability to pinpoint technical opportunities that yield business impact.
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization, chaos engineering, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Proven experience in strategically managing technical debt and leading modernization efforts for legacy systems.
• Knowledge of security-by-design principles and experience leading incident response for production environments.
• Demonstrated capability to leverage AI tools for substantial productivity gains and contribute to AI-enhanced development infrastructure.
