This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and develop scalable backend services that drive our unified communications platform, encompassing SMS, email, push notifications, and upcoming channels.
• Build systems for immediate, event-driven messaging along with self-service marketing automation and experimentation functionalities.
• Convert extensive, intricate datasets into high-impact marketing capabilities utilizing APIs, streaming pipelines, and reverse ETL processes.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, lifecycle marketing, data insights, analytics, and data platform teams to establish requirements and deliver meaningful, data-centric solutions.
• Independently lead medium-sized projects, proactively identifying risks, navigating ambiguity, and facilitating execution from design to launch.
• Enhance our engineering culture by boosting system reliability, accelerating iteration processes, and effectively communicating technical trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience) plus 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in developing and managing microservices and APIs within a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Kotlin, Java, Ruby, or Python.
• Proven ability to execute projects independently, navigate uncertainties, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of functioning effectively in a distributed team setting.
• Experience in supporting Marketing, Growth, or GTM teams, especially in contexts involving CDPs, customer segmentation, or campaign orchestration.
• Familiarity with reverse ETL tools (e.g., Hightouch, Census), data pipeline tools (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran, Databricks), or marketing automation platforms (e.g., Iterable, Braze, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
• Understanding of real-time event streaming systems and high-throughput messaging architectures.
• Experience in integrating with third-party APIs and developing systems that process, transform, and expose large volumes of data.
• Proven track record of leading medium to large projects and contributing to long-term system design decisions with a significant platform impact.
