Senior Software Engineer – Java, GraphQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain the server-side functionality of our applications utilizing Java

• Create efficient and high-performance backend code for applications handling high volumes in production

• Oversee application performance, recognize associated risks, and guarantee reliability in the production setting

• Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from initial concept through to deployment

• Evaluate and improve code, implementing best practices for code organization and cleanliness

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend development expertise in Java and the Spring Framework

• Skilled in RESTful API architecture, with experience in GraphQL APIs

• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) and caching solutions (e.g., Redis, Memcached)

• Knowledgeable in authentication and authorization frameworks, particularly OAuth 2.0

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Competent in performance troubleshooting, profiling, and debugging tools

• Adept at addressing complex issues related to latency, data consistency, and performance in distributed systems

• Understanding of distributed systems design patterns; including resilience strategies like circuit breakers, retries, and timeouts

• Proficient in code versioning systems, particularly Git

• Experienced with CI/CD methodologies and tools

• English proficiency: B2+ (both written and verbal)

• Background in working within a lean agile framework

• Proactive in grasping the customer's business needs and translating them into technical specifications
