Senior Software Engineer, Java, Fullstack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• You will create and uphold Java-based backend components for the “Swing” product.

• You will engage in integrations and interfaces within a well-established software ecosystem.

• You will assess existing structures and lead efforts in refactoring and modernization.

• You will design robust and scalable solutions with a focus on performance and stability.

• You will work closely with product management, support, and related teams.

• You will actively utilize modern development tools—including AI-assisted tools—and critically assess their outputs.

• You will maintain high code quality through thorough testing, reviews, and adherence to clear standards.

• You will play a role in enhancing architecture and engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in Java backend development (e.g., Spring or similar frameworks).

• Experience in mature or legacy-intensive system environments.

• Knowledge of Kotlin is advantageous, particularly in hybrid or evolving codebases.

• Strong experience with SQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.

• Practical experience with container technologies (Docker) and ideally Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS is preferred.

• A solid understanding of API design and integration within complex system landscapes.

• High standards for code quality, testing, security, and documentation.

• Reflective and responsible usage of AI-supported development tools.

• Excellent German language skills (minimum C1) as well as good English proficiency (minimum B2) are essential.
