Senior Software Engineer – JAVA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

• Accountable for designing features; assess designs and offer constructive feedback.

• Lead design and code reviews, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience in delivering high-quality software, preferably across the full stack.

• Designs at the organizational level, considering upstream and downstream integration.

• Designs systems where implementation spans multiple weeks or months and involves an entire team of engineers.

• Makes technical choices and influences priorities and trade-offs that enable solutions to meet short and long-term business goals.

• Takes responsibility for systems or designs that encompass multiple team members' work, segmenting tasks for junior engineers to assist.

• Understands the trade-offs in various engineering processes and can adapt team processes to align with project needs and team members.

• Comprehends relevant architecture, network, or systems within the team.

• Well-versed in standard industry practices for work tracking to guarantee work delivery is consistent, measurable, and aligns with stated objectives.

• Possesses a strong understanding of the business and is cognizant of how strategies and tactics function in the marketplace.

• Leads work processes and design reviews throughout the team.

• Identifies potential gaps and proposes solutions to issues that may not yet exist.

• Excellent proficiency in an Object-Oriented language, such as Java.

• Skilled in Java, Java Spring Boot Framework, and Docker.

• Test automation experience across all levels (Unit, Integration, Regression, Load).

• Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools and pipelines (Gitlab CI/CD, Terraform).

• Experience with RESTful architecture and microservices.

• Experience with system design, architecture, scaling, and performance testing.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies, especially AWS.

• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL.

• Experience with cache-based low latency system design.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and testing tools.

• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.

• Familiarity with operations tools, logging, and metrics (New Relic, Splunk).

• Experience with messaging technologies and patterns (Kafka/SQS).
