Senior Software Engineer – Fullstack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend and frontend components for production.

• Create APIs, implement business logic, manage data access layers, and develop user interfaces.

• Introduce new features while modernizing legacy functionalities.

• Write unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure safe delivery of software.

• Transform legacy Java applications (e.g., Struts/JBoss) into Spring Boot services.

• Assist in breaking down monolithic systems into modular services.

• Ensure data integrity and maintain backward compatibility during gradual modernization.

• Identify and fix defects in complex legacy codebases.

• Develop RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.

• Implement data access using Hibernate/JPA.

• Aid in database modernization, schema evolution, and data migration activities.

• Employ consistent logging, error handling, and observability practices.

• Build and sustain React applications using TypeScript.

• Ensure responsive UI behavior and secure backend integration.

• Collaborate with UX and backend teams on API specifications and user experience enhancements.

• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using IAM solutions (e.g., Keycloak).

• Utilize OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect and role-based access control protocols.

• Focus on CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and readiness for production.

• Work alongside DevOps teams for deployment and operational support.

• Engage in sprint planning, refinement, estimation, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Clearly communicate progress, risks, and technical challenges.

• Support the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and estimation to deployment, monitoring, and documentation.

• Continuously learn and apply new tools and techniques to enhance performance, automation, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience as an individual contributor.

• Strong expertise in Java, particularly with hands-on experience in Spring Boot.

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs; proficient with JUnit or similar testing frameworks.

• Working knowledge of Angular (v2+) and TypeScript for integrating frontend features with backend services.

• Proficient with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and/or Oracle (SQL, schema design, troubleshooting).

• Skilled in using Git and tracking work in Jira; strong collaboration and communication abilities.

• Proven capability to conduct code reviews, maintain code quality, and both provide and receive coaching to enhance team practices.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, proactive risk identification, and the ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences.
