This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with product developers, engineers, and internal stakeholders to decompose roadmap items into clearly defined, actionable tasks.

• Direct, limit, and validate the output of AI coding agents, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with system architecture and business requirements.

• Design and develop scalable, resilient software for enterprise clients that functions reliably 24/7 as a mission-critical system.

• Take ownership of quality from start to finish: consider correctness before implementation, define testing criteria and levels, and ensure that failures are observable and diagnosable.

• Communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical contexts, translating high-level business intentions into specific engineering decisions.

• Proactively identify risks, constructively raise concerns, and drive work forward without waiting for complete information.

• Create systems that are comprehensible and adaptable, taking into account how software operates in production, potential failure modes, and safe modification practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success as a Senior Software Engineer in a B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or similarly reliability-critical environment.

• Strong conceptual grasp of web application architecture, including APIs, data models, distributed systems, security, observability, and deployment—technology-agnostic and capable of reasoning at the appropriate level of abstraction.

• Excellent proficiency in English (near-native level): able to clearly explain complex topics, listen attentively, and collaborate constructively with engineers, product developers, and non-technical stakeholders.

• Self-driven and inquisitive: able to investigate issues independently, proactively identify risks, and advance initiatives without needing every next step explicitly defined.

• Pragmatic rather than dogmatic: apply engineering principles suited to the actual context, differentiate between essential quality and unnecessary complexity, and deliver reliable solutions.

• Confident in using AI tools as enhancements to your own capabilities, while maintaining full accountability for deliverables and critically assessing AI-generated outputs.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and change: design for evolution rather than a fixed specification, and thrive in a fast-paced scale-up environment where rapid shifts occur.

• Experience in start-up or scale-up settings is a significant advantage; domain knowledge in manufacturing or pricing is not necessary.
