Senior Software Engineer, Firewall Backend, Content Filtering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and create cloud-based backend services for URL filtering, categorization, and reputation/rating utilizing scalable content-filtering solutions.

• Develop and sustain high-performance REST and gRPC APIs using Python and/or Go for integration with firewall, gateway, and cloud management systems.

• Implement backend logic with a focus on security, including URL classification pipelines, reputation scoring, policy enforcement, and safe update mechanisms.

• Create and manage cloud-native microservices by leveraging containers and orchestration platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.

• Work collaboratively with frontend, data, security, and platform teams to provide comprehensive filtering, management, and analytics capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong backend development expertise in Python and/or Go, including the design of scalable REST/gRPC APIs.

• Experience in building cloud-native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP using microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid comprehension of URL filtering and rating systems, data pipelines, taxonomy classification, reputation scoring, or related security data processing areas.

• Practical experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), large-scale telemetry, metrics ingestion, and analytics processing.

• Familiarity with security fundamentals, including certificates, encryption, secure communications, and firewall/UTM concepts.
