Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Desktop

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the enhancement and development of Firefox features related to installations, updates, and operating system integrations.

• Assist in implementing improvements to the Firefox installation and update experience, utilizing data insights to inform development.

• Address platform-specific challenges in low-level operating system integration on Windows and/or macOS.

• Collaborate with your manager and team members to define and prioritize tasks in alignment with the team's objectives.

• Engage in code reviews and participate in technical discussions with colleagues.

• Take responsibility for complex bugs and spearhead initiatives to enhance the Firefox experience for hundreds of millions of users.

• Work closely with your geographically dispersed team in a highly cooperative environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Software Engineer.

• Experience in systems-level programming on at least one major platform (Windows, macOS).

• Strong programming skills in C/C++.

• Effective communicator and collaborator, particularly in distributed teams.

• Ability to decompose technical tasks and maintain steady progress within project timelines.

• A collaborative mindset and a strong desire to contribute to the success of the team.
