Senior Software Engineer, Finance Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage essential services that process PSP settlement and transactional data at scale, ensuring accurate translation into our general ledger and billing systems.

• Design and implement infrastructure that converts customized monetization deal terms into configurations, replacing temporary solutions with robust, auditable systems.

• Quickly create and refine tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of interactions with our finance data, adopting an AI-first approach by default.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams across the organization to influence how transactional and settlement data is modeled and made available at the source, advocating for the necessary data contracts rather than reverse-engineering convenient upstream solutions.

• Engage and work with various stakeholders - including Finance, Accounting, Data Scientists, Analysts, Data Platform Engineers, and Product teams - to implement best practices for managing data quality.

• Uphold a high standard of accuracy, completeness, and operational excellence throughout the platform in a SOX-controlled environment.

• Establish clear definitions and documentation of our data sources and systems, ensuring ownership is unmistakably defined.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience, with a proven history of building and maintaining production backend systems.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, along with the fundamental engineering skills to quickly learn new tools and frameworks.

• Experience in handling and processing transactional or financial data at scale, preferably in a SOX-controlled setting.

• Proven ability to design services and data models that are dependable, auditable, and built for longevity.

• Familiarity with the integration between streaming production data and a data warehouse environment.

• Ability to operate independently without a predefined playbook, defining architecture, workflows, and roadmaps as you progress.

• Competence in simplifying complex technical concepts and conveying them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Bonus: understanding of finance and accounting principles, as well as experience with payments infrastructure, marketplace payout platforms, or finance systems vendors.
