This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee FSM client interactions as a virtual Chief Financial Officer.
• Offer insights and recommendations concerning clients’ growth strategies, along with assessments of the financial impacts of significant business choices.
• Establish controls, frameworks, policies, and systems that capture and leverage timely and accurate data across clients’ operations, as well as in financial planning, budgets, forecasting, and closing processes.
• Evaluate clients’ financial outcomes in terms of profits, trends, costs, and adherence to budgets.
• Present and provide insights on financial outcomes with a narrative that includes results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics.
• Lead the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships.
• Manage cash utilization and debt facilities to maintain a robust foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth.
• Collaborate with clients’ Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and sales teams regarding contracts and contract processes.
• Act as a liaison between clients and their external legal advisors.
• Supervise clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans.
• Direct and support FSM personnel assigned to client engagements.
• Ensure that deliverables adhere to FSM’s quality standards.
• Provide exceptional client service.
• Over 10 years of financial experience, with recent roles as CFO or VP of Finance in a growing SaaS or software organization.
• Comprehensive understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and relevant best practices.
• Proven track record in implementing and refining processes, procedures, and infrastructure to facilitate scalability and support growth (both organic and inorganic).
• Experience in leading fundraising initiatives, preferably within a growth-stage company.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required (the company will cover exam costs upon successful completion).
