Senior Software Engineer, ERP, Data & Domain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +32 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the canonical data model for Vultr’s control plane ERP transformation, including product catalog, chart of accounts, financial transactions, and cost centers.

• Create and sustain the internal APIs and event streams utilized by Finance, Analytics, and other downstream systems.

• Refine existing administrative code to establish clear domain boundaries, eliminating conflated orders, ledger, and report tables.

• Implement data upgrade and migration strategies from legacy schemas without disrupting production.

• Develop the integration layer to connect administer with Vultr's current billing, provisioning, and reporting systems.

• Set up data validation and integrity checks within the financial data layer.

• Work closely with the Product Manager to convert finance domain requirements into robust schema designs.

• Document architectural choices and data model contracts for downstream users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend engineering, with extensive knowledge in data modeling, domain-driven design, or event sourcing.

• More than 5 years of experience with PHP.

• Experience in building or significantly refining a billing, accounting, or ERP-related system.

• Proficient in SQL and schema design skills, understanding when to normalize, denormalize, and utilize events.

• Experienced in conducting live upgrades with relevant experiences to share.

• Knowledgeable about domain-driven design patterns, including aggregates, value objects, and bounded contexts.
