This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop highly scalable functionalities that interface with numerous blockchains.
• Design and structure complex data models for optimal storage and retrieval, ensuring sub-second latency for querying blockchain data.
• Collaborate with various departments, working alongside data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers to create and implement innovative data models that enhance TRM’s offerings.

• Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams to thoroughly understand user requirements and convert them into scalable data solutions.
• Our top engineers are also outstanding communicators, crafting clear design documentation, proactively discussing trade-offs, and fostering alignment across different disciplines.
• Bonus: Experience with LLMs or AI-driven workflows (e.g., prompt engineering, internal tooling, semantic search).
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• A solid track record with over 5 years of practical experience in designing scalable API development and distributed system architecture, guiding projects from initial concept to successful production rollout.
• Exceptional programming capabilities in Python, as well as proficiency in SQL or SparkSQL.
• Versatility across the full spectrum of data engineering in one or more of the following areas:
• Extensive experience with data stores like BigQuery and Postgres.
• You have taken ownership of 0–1 systems: creating pipelines, data platforms, or ML/BI workflows from the ground up—not merely maintaining legacy systems.
• You excel at simplifying complexity, effectively conveying technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You are cost-conscious: you design for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• You have mentored engineers or analysts and take pleasure in elevating those around you.
• Extensive experience with data stores like BigQuery and Postgres.
• Proficiency in data pipeline and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and DBT.
• Expertise in data processing technologies and streaming workflows, including Dataflow, Spark, Kafka, and Flink.
• Competence in deploying and monitoring infrastructure within public cloud environments, utilizing tools like Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog.
• Proven experience in loading, querying, and transforming large datasets.
• Additionally, this role may be eligible to participate in TRM’s equity plan.
