Senior Software Engineer – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain the essential services that drive Avra’s data platform, which encompasses APIs, user-facing workspaces, ingestion systems, and internal tools utilized throughout the organization.

• Create and manage distributed systems that integrate data, infrastructure, and product experiences. Establish dependable connections between internal services, external systems, and AI-driven applications.

• Architect systems that ingest, process, and operationalize complex, incomplete, and evolving real-world data. Address schema evolution, edge cases, operational failures, and data quality issues with sound engineering judgment.

• Operate within cloud-native environments (GCP/AWS), constructing and managing services, deployment pipelines, messaging systems, storage layers, and infrastructure automation.

• Ongoing enhancement of the platform by minimizing operational complexity, boosting developer productivity, enhancing observability, and streamlining system architecture.

• Collaborate closely with AI, Product, and Infrastructure teams to develop platform capabilities that directly support customer-facing products and foundational AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and maintaining production software systems.

• Proficient backend engineering experience with languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or others.

• In-depth understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, data-intensive applications, streaming, and production reliability.

• Proven ability to take charge of ambiguous challenges, propel initiatives from design to production, and balance immediate delivery with sustainable long-term solutions.

• Excellent analytical and debugging skills, capable of navigating intricate systems, pinpointing root causes, and providing practical solutions.
