Senior Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure – RDBMS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and manage high-performance databases and data models at a petabyte scale that facilitate real-time investigations and analytics applications.

• Develop and enhance production data pipelines—both batch and streaming—that convert extensive blockchain datasets.

• Analyze and refine complex SQL queries under significant load, collaborating closely with product and research teams.

• Lead critical infrastructure projects—from query optimization and index strategies to storage efficiency and system reliability.

• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure the delivery of dependable and impactful data workflows from start to finish.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics infrastructure, or backend systems with a strong foundation in RDBMS.

• Proven experience in implementing and managing database security protocols, including access control, encryption, and adherence to security frameworks and standards.

• Demonstrated proficiency with at least one of the following: Postgres, MySQL, or SQL Server at a production scale (e.g., TB-scale datasets, concurrency, replication, tuning).

• Strong understanding of SQL reasoning—you can debug, clarify, and optimize queries, not just compose them.

• Experience in designing and evolving data models (both normalized and denormalized) to support analytical or operational requirements.

• Knowledge of data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Airflow, DBT, custom orchestration).

• A systems thinking approach and a sense of ownership—you are adept at tackling ambiguous, cross-functional challenges from start to finish.
