Senior Software Engineer, Data focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and implement new functionalities for SELECT by DoiT.

• Work in collaboration with founders and fellow engineers.

• Contribute innovative ideas to the product roadmap and software architecture.

• Develop features for cost management, including forecasts, anomaly alerts, and cost distribution.

• Create reusable and robust user interface components for cost analysis.

• Develop capabilities for data visualization focusing on performance, query timing, and efficiency.

• Construct data pipelines and dbt models to uncover user insights and opportunities.

• Enhance the reliability and performance of the application.

• Identify significant customer challenges and make practical trade-offs.

• Take ownership of features from initial design and planning through to implementation, testing, and delivery.

• Iterate rapidly while balancing speed with depth of work.

• Create proposals, documentation, clear commit messages, and conduct thorough testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven engineer with skills in backend and data engineering.

• Strong understanding of relevant programming languages, tools, and frameworks.

• Extensive knowledge and experience with Python, FastAPI, Postgres, dbt, Dagster, and Snowflake.

• Experience in system design.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Self-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, confident, meticulous, and persistent.

• Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced and ever-changing team environment.

• Experience with FinOps and cloud infrastructure cost management is a plus.

• Bonus for experience in data warehouse management and observability.

• Experience in an early-stage startup environment is an added advantage.
